About MeHello.
My name is Sharon and I am one of the 6-8 Leading Teachers at Northern Bay P-12 College in Geelong, Victoria. I have been teaching for 15 years and have taught all year levels from Prep through to Year 8. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in TESOL and have recently completed my Professional Certificate in Education (TFA Mentoring), both at the University of Melbourne. I have a passion for teaching and love challenging myself and learning new things. I am always looking for ways to integrate ICT more deeply into my classroom and learning community as well as encouraging those around me to utilise these wonderful tools in their own classrooms. At our College we run a 1:1 program in our 3-5 and 6-8 Learning Communities. I am currently engaged in Action Research in the area of mathematics and technology, specifically 1-1 devices in middle year classes. I look forward to the challenge of improving the knowledge of our digital learners in the 21st Century and sharing my teaching practices and gained knowledge with other likeminded educators around the world. Layout of this siteInitially, I was going to have tabs set up for the different subject areas I teach ... and then I found myself working outside of the classroom! It was at this point that I realised everything was going to fit in to either of the following categories: Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) or eLearning.
